Thursday 11 February 16:00 – 17:15
At this Policy Scotland Welfare Reform Network event, Jessica Burns will provide insight into her work as Regional Tribunal Judge in Social Security and Child Support. She will speak about the standard of First-Tier decision making, mandatory reconsiderations and the extent to which this is an internal appeal process.
She will go on to consider appeals to the First-Tier Tribunal, and the implications of the Judicial Reform Agenda on this. She will conclude with a discussion of appeals to the Upper Tribunal and beyond.
Throughout this event, Jessica will speak to the Scottish perspective – the Social Entitlement Chamber is a reserved jurisdiction, and she will also touch briefly on devolution and judicial reforms.
There will be time for audience questions towards the end of the event.
This is a free public event – all are welcome. Please feel free to circulate this invite.
