Using third sector research to influence policy and practice
June 1 at1:00 pm to 2:30 pm
An online seminar on understanding your stakeholders and policy influence for researchers and academics in the third sector.
The aim of this Policy Scotland/Third Sector Research Forum online event is to build on conversations started at the ‘Getting research heard and used: understanding and achieving policy influence’ workshop at TSRF conference, Researching Well, in February 2021. It will aelso showcase the experience and learning of third sector organisations who have used their research to influence policy and practice.
The event will be an hour and half comprising of a short input from Policy Scotland about engaging with your policy stakeholders, followed by two speakers from third sector organisations (The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland and the Royal Town Planning Institute) who will discuss challenges and enablers to getting their research-informed voices heard more widely. There will be an opportunity to discuss in small breakout groups what you’ve heard and reflect on your own work aiming to influence policy and practice agendas. We aim for this event to be a space for participants to share their experiences and to develop new strategies for policy engagement.
This event is for researchers and those in a communications role in the third sector, academics, and others with an interest in policy influence.
