A free public lecture by the former Prime Minister the Rt Hon Sir John Major KG CH was the culmination of the 2019 conference on public service organised by the John Smith Centre at the University of Glasgow.
Taking place on February 19th, the conference featured a series of panels and roundtables throughout the day, bringing together the best and the brightest voices of academia and politics to discuss representation and the role of public servants.
In the public lecture Sir John drew on decades of experience to discuss public service and representative politics, informed by both his years in grassroots politics and the corridors of power, and his in-depth understanding of the political machine, offering an evening of unparalleled insight.
This lecture took place from 17.00– 19.00 on Tuesday, February 19th at the University of Glasgow.
