Kicking off a series of events on Brexit hosted by Policy Scotland, Professor Jim Gallagher today gave a lecture at the University of Glasgow on “The Brexit Paradox: How the wrong choice for Britain offers the right opportunity for Scotland”.
Addressing an audience of prominent academics, journalists and experts from a range of fields, Professor Gallagher set out his vision for a new constitutional settlement for Scotland in the UK, in the aftermath of the EU referendum – arguing that the Leave vote opens up opportunities for “radical changes” to the UK’s territorial constitution, including a greater international personality for the Scottish Government.
Today’s event represents the first in a series to be hosted by Policy Scotland – with expert speakers from a range of fields set to examine the social, economic and political consequences of the UK’s decision to leave the EU at a series of events over the coming months.
